Dear Readers,
When we (a strange group of enthusiasts who for some reason wanted to establish a newspaper) decided to establish our very own student newspaper, we had quite a few deliberations. For one, we had to decide what the focus of our newspaper would be. Quite quickly we realized there was no point and no way for us to compete with traditional news. We are students at the Technion - we don’t have time to follow and report traditional news items. If you want to read about the situation in Lebanon or who slipped on a wet floor on the way to the gym, you won’t find that sort of news here.
Furthermore, the Technion already publishes news on the Technion’s latest innovations and ASAT publishes weekly updates of student-related news.
We realized there is only one thing that is truly lacking in our local Technion media sphere. Culture.
Reference is a place for cultural expression. A place for students to share their thoughts. A place for students to share their stories. A place for students to learn about other students.
It is your very own eccentric collection of the student experience.
The following journal is the culmination of work by at least a dozen people, laboured on for months. We hope you find among the digital pages a momentary glance of your own reflection.
